The young and upcoming soprano Caroline Wettergreen studied at The Norwegian Academy of Music, Norway and the Opera Academy in Copenhagen, Denmark. Already as a freshman, she made her debut at The Norwegian Opera&Ballet, as Adelaide in «Lulu», directed by Stefan Herheim.

By spring 2015 she made her concert debut in Berliner Philharmonie with Berliner Symphoniker, and in 2016 she made her international debut at Komische Oper, as La Fee in «Cendrillon», hosting great reviews. Caroline is a much sought after concert singer, having done concerts with Bayerische Staatsorchester, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and at Bergen International Festival.

In 2017 Caroline made her debut at Royal Opera House Covent Garden, singing Königin der Nacht, and at Bayerische Staatsoper, as Gretel in «Hänsel und Gretel». She also premiered «Two Inger Christensen-songs» by Hans Abrahamsen at Münchner Opernfestspiele, conducted by Kirill Petrenko.

2018 brought debuts such as Lucia di Lammermoor and Zerlina in «Don Giovanni» at The Norwegian Opera&Ballet, and La Fee in «Cendrillon», once again to outstanding reviews – with Glyndebourne on Tour.

In 2019 she returned to Bayerische Staatsoper, as Blonde in «Die Entführung aus dem Serail», before heading to Glyndebourne Festival Opera as Königin der Nacht in Glyndebourne’s first «Zauberflöte» in fifteen years.  2019 ended with the premiere of a brand new opera at Bayerische Staatsoper, by Hans Abrahamsen; Snow Queen, where Caroline played Princess.

Upcoming engagements include concerts and a CD-recording of «Christus am Ölberge» by Beethoven with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler 8. with Bayerische Staatsorchester and a new production of «Die Vögel» by Braunfels at Bayerische Staatsoper.
